At 1:06 a.m. today, Shawn ended his fight and went to be with Jesus.

I’m very sorry to hear this news. My condolences to Shawn’s family and friends. I had the privilege to play with his father on a Reston men’s club (well after his retirement from the Cosmos and Diplomats) Shawn and his brothers would come and join us in kick arounds.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I never knew him but followed him through the news and this site. Just from these, I could tell he was a special person. Cancer has taken a lot of loved ones, but Shawn’s faith is a true inspiration:) His words have touched a lot of people… and he will live on inside each of us. Thank you so much for sharing him with all of us
